Earlier this week, word got out that Disney had requested a number of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story reshoots in order to “lighten the mood” and “match the tone” of A New Hope.
Initially, it sounded like minor tweaks may have been required. However, on Friday we may have learned more about the extent of the reshoots needed to bring the film up to scratch.
According to the Making Star Wars blog, crew members believe 40 per cent of the entire piece will need to be reshot.
According to the report, final screenwriter Christoper McQuarrie will be working with director Gareth Edwards on reshoots.
It is also said the draft was incomplete when the shooting commenced and revisions coming in “made the film feel uneven.” The reshoots will apparently remedy this.

With six months remaining until the Episode IV prequel hits screens it may not be time to hit the panic button yet.
