Naughty Dog might have just confirmed The Last of Us 2 during a livestream broadcast on the upcoming Nathan Drake Collection.
Ahead of any official announcements, Naughty Dog may have at least confirmed the existence of The Last of Us 2 during a livestream.
As initially noticed by GamePur, during the livestream, Naughty Dog writer Josh Scherr seemed to confirm the studio is working on a sequel to The Last of Us.
Scherr is joined by lead animator Eric Baldwin and community strategist Eric Monacelli, but it's Scherr that lets slip.
"All the facial animation in the Uncharted series was led up by Eric here," begins Scherr, but not before finishing "and [on] the first The Last of Us. Uh, did I say the first Last of Us?"
Although it isn't exactly official confirmation, Scherr is certainly flustered by the encounter and trips himself up on the words immediately following the blurt.
It could be that he's referring to the expansion, Left Behind, but it seems that Eric tries to cover up Scherr's mistake by referencing the EP. You can watch it all in the video below.

This isn't the first time we've heard of The Last of Us 2, of course.
Earlier this year, noted voice actor Nolan North claimed The Last of Us was in development at Naughty Dog. However, this was disputed by another noted voice actor, Troy Baker (the voice of Joel), who said things remained in the air.
Of course, the studio's primary focus at the moment is finishing Uncharted 4, due in March 2016.
That should mean we'll hear about Naughty Dog's upcoming project next year.
