New Star Wars trailer is the best yet

Continuing an exciting week for Star Wars fans, the latest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released.

The trailer for the much anticipated sequel, which features the same glimpse of a hooded Luke Skywalker from April’s teaser trailer, debuted in the US during ESPN’s Monday night football game.

It follows the release of the official poster for The Force Awakens yesterday, which caused a stir among fans over the notable omission of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker.

Hamill will star in the film alongside both former co-stars Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher as well as series newcomers Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega.

After the evil Kylo Ren vows to finish what Darth Vader started, the
clip goes on to showcase the exploits of new heroes Rey and Finn,
played by Daisy Ridley and John Boyega respectively.

Han Solo makes an appearance in the clip, reassuring the young Rey and
Finn that the stories they’ve heard about the Jedi are true, and Carrie
Fisher as Princess Leia can also be seen.

Set 30 years after the events of 1983‘s Return of the Jedi, the forthcoming blockbuster looks set to dominate at the box office after cinema website servers were overloaded yesterday as the first pre-sale tickets became available.

Director J.J. Abrams spoke to fans on Twitter via his production company Bad Robot’s account, saying “I don’t care if you’re black, white, brown, Jawa, Wookiee, Jedi or Sith. I just hope you like it!”
