Sony adds local multiplayer support to Project Morpheus headset

Sony is about to make virtual reality more social by adding local multiplayer support for Project Morpheus

If you’re worried about having to go it solo with your VR headset, Sony is adding multiplayer support so you can play locally against up to three other players.

While you sit with your headset on, your fellow gamers can play in the standard way with a DualShock 4 controller in your hands staring at the screen.

With the Oculus Rift launching its consumer model next year and the newly announced HTC Vive, Sony is promising to add features that the PlayStation community wants in time for its early 2016 release.

Sony revealed its revamped version of the virtual reality gaming headset at GDC earlier this year with revamped specs including a larger Full HD screen and a wider field of view.

In other Morpheus news, Sony also announced RIGS as one of the first Morpheus multiplayer titles, which is being developed by Guerrilla Cambridge.

The new feature was revealed at the company’s E3 press conference where it also finally unveiled The Last Guardian, Shenmue III and Destiny The Taken King.
