Sennheiser sends its HD 1 wireless headphones into the cosmos with special Pink Floyd edition

Sennheiser has unveiled a new version of its popular Momentum 2.0 headphones – and while the Pink Floyd-inspired HD 1 Wireless edition might not be released in time for Father’s Day, Dad would probably be happy to wait for a pair of these awesome looking over-ears.

The new Sennheiser HD 1 Wireless edition are a reskinned version of the excellent Momentum 2.0 headphones – we gave them a nearly perfect 9/10 score in our Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 review – featuring the iconic Pink Floyd ‘prism’ on the side of each can.

Other exclusive design features include rainbow coloured stitching on the headband (a tribute to the Dark Side of the Moon cover art) and a special ‘Their Mortal Remains’ plate.

As we’ve just hinted, it’s Sennheiser’s way of celebrating its role in the V&A’s current Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains exhibition, which sees the German audio specialists deliver the show’s (spectacular) 3D audio.

“It is a true pleasure to mark this major cultural event with a dedicated new version of the Momentum that celebrates both design and an enduring love of music. This is also a wonderful way to continue our history as a company working with Pink Floyd,” commented Daniel Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser.

The headphones aren’t just pretty, though, offering plenty of high-end audio features including active noise cancellation, high-definition Bluetooth aptX wireless sound, and a built-in VoiceMax mic, plus the stylish, ultra-comfortable design we loved when we reviewed the wired Momentum 2.0s.

Sennheiser’s HD 1 Wireless edition is set to land by the end of June, and is available for online pre-order exclusively through Sennheiser’s website for £379.99.
