Samsung is one of those manufacturers that keeps its fingers is as many pies as possible. Next up on the menu? Drones.
A new report suggests Samsung is working on a custom-built drone that will mark the company’s first foray into UAV manufacturing.
The device is supposedly codenamed ‘Project Selfie Camera Drone’, which gives away Samsung’s intentions.
The report, courtesy of Sammobile, suggests the primary function of Samsung’s mysterious UAV will be taking selfies. Aside from flying, obviously.
Unfortunately, details on the drone are light at this point; the report says “nothing has been finalised yet”.
It's also worth mentioning that this is just one report making a claim, and Samsung hasn't confirmed anything. Pinch of salt highly recommended.
This isn’t the first time a smartphone company has hopped on the drone bandwagon (bandcopter?) and began peddling UAVs.
Earlier this year, OnePlus announced it would begin selling its own custom-built mini-drone – the OnePlus DR-1.
