Galaxy Note 7 pre-orders are selling out as Samsung admits limited stocks

Note 7 vs iPhone 7

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is now available for pre-order in the UK, but you might be hard pushed to get one.

The Samsung Shop has already closed its pre-sale period. Supplies appear to have been exhausted, despite the eye-popping SIM-free price tag of £739 for the 64GB model.

Pre-orders are proving popular for this generation as Samsung is shipping the device to those customers three days before it officially goes on sale on September 2, with some retailers also sweetening the pot with a free Gear VR.

The early exhaustion of pre-order stocks comes after Samsung warned quantities would be limited in Europe.

"Market reaction, combined with extremely positive feedback from our carrier and retail partners, indicates that the Note 7 will exceed our original sales forecasts for the region by some distance," said Samsung Mobile's UK boss Conor Pierce said (via Sammobile).

"As such, the number of pre-order units will be limited due to the unprecedented demand, which will enable us to meet as much of this anticipated demand as possible and minimise any potential consumer disappointment when the device goes on general sale next month."

Your best bet now is seemingly to go through the mobile networks, if you're hoping to get the device ahead of the pack. We've got a host of the best pre-order deals for you to choose from.

Otherwise, you might be lining up at retail stores on September 2.
