Pokémon Go players left confused and angered at the removal of the battery saving mode can rest easy - it's coming back any day now.

As anyone who's spent any length of time with Pokémon Go will know, it's a bit of a killer on your phone's battery life. That's why many were a little mystified when version 1.1.1 of the game removed the battery saver function.

Well, as it turns out, battery saver mode was removed for a very good reason - it didn't work properly. Now, however, Niantic has revealed the much sought-after feature is set to return.

"We have been hearing the feedback loud and clear about the removal of the Battery Saver mode on iOS devices," said Niantic in a recent Facebook post. "We had removed this feature as several users were experiencing it to be buggy, but we are fairly confident that a fix for this should roll out within the next several days."

So there you have it - expect to se a return of the battery saver mode over the coming days.

The post also mentions that Pokémon Go has now rolled out in Brazil ahead of the Olympics. As if the good people of Rio didn't have enough to worry about with hundreds of thousands of extra tourists milling around, they'll also have to contend with locals hanging around churches en masse whilst flicking their phones.

Niantic has also confirmed that it has successfully addressed a recent issue whereby a couple of players received legendary Pokémon when they shouldn't have.
