The TrustedReviews team is live at the Monster press conference at CES 2016 in Las Vegas.
Noel Lee, CEO of Monster, rolled in on his famous Segway to talk to the press about Monster 2.0 in 2016. With the tagline “unleashing the power of Monster”, Lee is aiming to reinvent the well-known audio company.
Aside from the raft of sports stars including Shaquille O’Neal and Cristiana Ronaldo, Monster announced partnerships with AllHipHop.com and, more interestingly, the prestige car company Bentley.
Monster is also working with competitive gaming champ Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel to release its first gaming headsets.
The entry-level FXM 100 will retail at $79.95/£59.95 and the FXM 200 at $119.95/£99.95.
Blast from the past
There are a couple of new members to the SuperStar family of Bluetooth speakers, starting with the SuperStar Hotshot.
This is the smallest speaker in the range and will cost a modest $49.99.
Monster’s big new product announcement was a blast from the past – a boom box for the 21st century.
The SuperStar Monster Blaster aims to bring the tunes to the outdoors. Monster claims it offers full and deep bass while pumping out sound from both sides.
The styling is surprisingly tasteful compared to some of the monstrosities we’ve seen in the past. Of course, the Monster Blaster also comes with Bluetooth, NFC, USB and 3.5mm connectivity. It also has microphone inputs, making this a portable PA system too.
Thankfully, you won’t need a ton of batteries to power it. The SuperStar Monster Blaster has a rechargeable battery that offers “hours” of play time.
Available from spring 2016, the boom box will cost $399.95/£349.95.
Shiny, shiny headphones
This wouldn’t be Monster without a bevy of new headphone announcements.
There are new members to the flashy Elements range, two new Clarity Bluetooth headphones – in-ear and on-ear – as well as the sparkly Diamondz True Wireless that look more like earrings than ear buds.
