Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

A Hearthstone Molten Core expansion pack has been teased by information within a server patch.

According to information datamined from a patch on Blizzard servers, the next Hearthstone expansion may be themed around the World of Warcraft Molten Core raid.

Within the patch info obtained by Hearthpwn, there were details on three cosmetic card backs for the game, but we don’t actually get to see any of them from the server information.

Out of the three, we’re particularly interested by the Molten Core listing, which is tagged as a reward for license detection.

However, it is further tagged as relating to a “purchase brm presale”. We’re hoping BRM stands for Blackrock Mountain, the World of Warcraft region where the Molten Core raid is actually set.

The second most interesting is the Ragnaros listing. As the final boss of the Molten Core raid is already in Hearthstone as one of the more powerful legendary cards, we assume he is just likely to be the theme of a decorative card back reward for a monthly Ranked play session.

That is supported by the fact it is detailed as a reward from “Ranked Season Play”.

The third and final decorative card pack teased was called Golden Celebration, and is also triggered by the detection of a license.

It’s simply described as a “golden celebration cardback”, so we believe it may be a reward for creating a deck made up entirely of Golden cards.

Blizzard has confirmed it will hold a panel at PAX East where the developers for Heathstone, Heroes of the Storm and Overwatch will outline their plans for each title.

The panel takes place March 6 at 3.30pm GMT.
