Google has unveiled Jamboard, a 4K touchscreen display that’ll enable offices to replace their traditional whiteboard with a cloud-connected digital solution.
Users will be able to draw, write and erase items on the 55-inch Jamboard, while contributors and collaborators will be able to chip in from remote locations.
Also, owners of iOS or Android tablets will benefit from a rich array of touchscreen editing tools that enable them to collaborate in real time. The companion smartphone apps will allow users to follow along, but not to edit.
Naturally, the whiteboard will sync everything back to the collaborators’ Google Drive folders, the company revealed via a blog post on Tuesday.
The display comes with a pair of thick styluses and an eraser, while fingers can also be used in the latter capacity.
It can recognize 16-points of contact at a time, meaning colleagues gathered around the Jamboard won’t have to wait their turn to contribute.
It won’t be cheap though. It’ll sit just below $6,000 when it hoes on sale to G Suite customers before next summer.
