Facebook may be planning to revamp its unloved Notes feature, judging by new blog pages spotted by some users on Monday.
The barely used feature is appearing within a new, full-page layout with plenty of white space and larger typography.
In fact, pages aren’t all that dissimilar to those on the popular Twitter-owned blogging service Medium. The new look isn’t all that surprising given Facebook snapped up the design team behind Medium in January.
From the early feedback, it seems the new Notes posts will feature cover photos, hashtags and friend tags. Users will also have more freedom to write longer posts, free of the clutter of status updates.
Not everyone can see the new tool at the moment, but Facebook has confirmed a test is taking place.
“We’re testing an update to Notes to make it easier for people to create and read longer-form stories on Facebook,” a spokesperson said (via The Next Web).
If it becomes a proper feature, we can expect an announcement from Facebook in the near future.
