Dyson Airblade Tap unveiled as revolutionary dryer

Dyson has brought its Airblade drying technology to the humble tap, allowing users to both wash and dry their hands with minimal fuss and maximum efficiency thanks to the Dyson Airblade Tap.

Capable of drying up to 15 pairs of hands for the price of a single paper towel, the Dyson Airblade Tap, which costs just £48 per year to run, is the work of more than 100 engineers and features a Dyson digital motor V4 to produce a high velocity blanket of air capable of drying hands.

“Using laser cutting technologies to manipulate marine grade steel, Dyson engineers have created an intuitive, high performance tap,” Sir James Dyson, founder and CEO of vacuum cleaner specialist Dyson said. “Two branches channel high velocity air to literally scrape water from hands and into the sink – not the floor.”

Dyson Airblade Tap Features
Capable of washing and drying a pair of hands within just 12 seconds, the newly unveiled Dyson Airblade Tap utilises the company’s 1600W Dyson digital V4 motor which uses digital pulse technology to accelerate from 0-90,000rpm in just 0.7 seconds. Featuring two individual sensors, the Dyson Airblade tap can coordinate its washing and drying abilities independently.

Playing host to a HEPA filter to remove 99.9 per cent of bacteria from surrounding air before pumping it out on to users’ hands, the Dyson Airblade Tap hides its inner workings under the sink, displaying only a lovingly designed, 304 stainless steel tap that hosts a pair of air providing arms. Using unheated air for added energy efficiency, the Dyson Airblade Tap can produce sheets of air capable of moving at a staggering 430mph.

Having simulated more than 213 million hand washes during testing, Dyson has fitted the new Dyson Airblade Tap with six Helmholtz silencers to help absorb the noise and vibration generated by the high powered air multiplying fans.

Dyson Airblade Tap Release Date and Price
Far from your normal B&Q purchase, the new Dyson Airblade tap, which could cannibalise sales of Dyson’s Airblade hand dryers, is destined for commercial use with pre-orders available now ahead of an as yet undisclosed Dyson Airblade Tap release date.

Whilst a finalised release date is still to be announced, a hefty £999.99 Dyson Airblade Tap price tag has been handed to the revolutionary bathroom product.

Could the Dyson Airblade Tap become the new standard of public bathrooms or is this one extravagance too far for most establishments? Share your thoughts on the matter with us via the TrustedReviews Twitter and Facebook feeds or through the comment boxes below.
