A man who reportedly told police of fears “Google was watching him” has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out a series of attacks on the company’s HQ and property.
Police believe Raul Murillo Diaz, 30, threw Molotov cocktails at Mountain View buildings on May 19 and June 30, NBC reports.
One of the cocktails, made from Blue Moon beer bottles, caused a fire in a Google Earth demo car.
He is also suspected of firing projectiles at Google HQ from office windows.
Authorities also believe the Oakland, California resident may be involved with the torching a Google self-driving car on June 10
Diaz reportedly told police and prosecutors he "felt Google was watching him and it made him upset."
When arrested by police, NBC Bay Area says (via Mercury News) Diaz had a pipe bomb in his car.
He has been charged with one count of arson that caused "malicious damage by explosives," and will appear in court again on July 8.
