BMW has announced a new version of its ConnectedDrive iPhone app that’ll keep drivers posted of their appointments, notifications and traffic conditions.
Announcing the revamp of Microsoft Build (via Engadget), the Azure-based platform is designed to be an in-car assistant, similar to what Google Now offers smartphone users.
The app will make it easy to navigate through traffic, while it’ll also tell drivers when they should leave in order to make their destinations on time, similar to a feature Waze added to its app recently.
In addition to this, it’ll also match up with your calendar and pull-in appointments and planned destinations.

In a press release on the BMW website, the company wrote: “Reaching your destination easily, comfortably and punctually constitutes a basic need of everyday mobility. Traffic conditions change quickly so access to real-time information is important.
“BMW Connected provides estimated travel times in and outside the vehicle for your routine or planned destinations. Based on traffic conditions, you will be notified when it’s time to leave, on your iPhone or Apple Watch.”
There’s no news yet on when the updated app will be updated.
