I like the Doro phones. Not because I'm a 'senior' (although I am cracking on a bit, it has to be admitted). Nevertheless, I may never buy one, simply because of the 'senior' tag.

I'm adding this comment from a self-built PC, hooked up to a KVM switch and running various linux distros in VMs under windows XP. I'm a technophile, although I buy only the tech which benefits me (as opposed to everything Apple and Microsoft want to sell me).

So. We've established that I'm not a helpless old lady who doesn't understand the TV controller (although there's nothing wrong with people like that). Why, then, do I like the Doro phones, as compared to the vast array of 'smartphones'?

For several reasons. Firstly, I don't need an overpriced 'smartphone' because I don't want to be permanently (or indeed ever) linked to facebook or twitter. Secondly, I have several email addresses but I can hardly ever be bothered to check them (better, more productive, things to be doing). Thirdly, I don't want to pay silly money for data allowances I don't need, and won't use, but which will allow my 'smart' phone to update itself and report my shopping habits back to google or apple. Fourthly, because I'm six foot four, with big fingers and short sight, so the kind of phone favoured by fourteen year old kids with 20/20 vision doesn't suit me.

After pairing it with my Fusion ----- screen of the phone reverses and becomes all garbled when u turn the car off and on again...happened twice --- and each time it asks to ACCEPT the sync'ing for some reason whereas in the past the other phones had no problems.

Bought this a few weeks ago, easy easy to use but, since day one it needs a daily charge and only has a about 6 hours standby - from the review it looks as if it came
with a faulty battery or faulty charger.

My husband bought me this phone for Christmas because i was fed up of the scratched screen on my old phone and wanted a "clam" phone - NOT because I am an "oldie" who can't cope with modern technology. I am no spring chicken, but I am very computer literate and even have an IPad! Although I said I didn't want anything fancy, this phone is totally inadequate and, in my opinion, terrible value for money. For example:
you can't save a message to draft
all you know is that your message has been sent, as opposed to delivered - and whether and i have no idea why there is a deivery report setting as whether you check or unceck this optin, it makes not a jot of difference!
and you can't even silence the irritating keypad beeps wthout silencing the other crucial functions - such as ring tone for calls and messages!
And those are just the shortcomings I have discovered so far after only a few days!
My husband is looking for the receipt to take this phone back - it's a rip off!

I'm new to the toro phone. It has a slot to an SD card but have idea of how I can stirs photos on that card. With my old phone, a Motorola, I could select photos to transfer them to my SD card which I could use, with an adapter to transfer them to my computer. I tried to use the charging cable that has an USB adapter but my computer did not recognize my phone as a storage device.

My wife put the phone in the washing machine in a trouser pocket and it went the full cycle. We took the phone apart and put it into a bowl of rice for 2 days and it now works perfectly again - and it is nice and clean!

I need some help. I want a Doro mobile phone because of the large buttons and text. I want it unlocked so that I can use my Asda sim and keep my number. I don't want a smart phone but I still need Internet connection as I use a tuner ab for my violin. I have been looking at the Doro 6520 sold on Amazon. I am not sure though if it will accept my Asda sim. Also I don't know if it will accept my ee server. Also it isn't Android which I am used to it is Linux I don't know what difference that would make. Can anyone help?

Has anyone else had this problem: Clamshell-style Doro 612: when a call comes in and I open it, I am immediately connected -- to anyone who wants to pester me. Solution: change Answer mode to "press any key" and then reject nuisance calls? Only problem: I change the Answer mode, but it does not work. My path is: Menu > Settings > Calls > Answer mode > Any key > OK > Saved. Still connects me when I open the phone. Answer mode screen defaults to "open to answer". Anyone any ideas?
