I am in the army and i fell into one of these laptops just before my current deployment. it has been dropped, spilled on, gotten fine sand blown into it outside in a sandstorm, and has kept on moving like it didn't care. there are only a few complaints i have, the RAM is proprietary to Panasonic, and does not come in a size larger than 2gb that i could find, replacement ram is also quite expensive. and the DVD drive is pretty noisy. That having been said, the battery life is exceptional, and it actually still has the power to play most popular games (command and conquer, all varieties, and wow) at medium settings fairly smoothly. which for an exec laptop is fairly uncommon. since i got mine for free i can't complain about the price point too much, but i can see why it does go for the price it is.
