Oh dear - I liked the look of these but it seems Hitachi have missed the boat re: picture quality :(. Shame. (Its gotta be an 8 minimum for me. pref higher).

I've bought this one just a couple of days before xmas and I' very happy with the choice. The picture is above the expectations for this sort of monitors. There are loads of settings and if you have a freeview box upscaling to 1080 you will feel like been watching on a much more expensive screen. I also bought the Hitachi HDR163 160GB HDMI Digital TV Recorder to pair with the monitor (as the screen doesn't come with tv tuner) and it's been a rather nice experience. The only thing I miss is another HDMI port, because there is only one, but you can buy a splitter for £15,00 at Asda. Before I buy this screen I went to a few shops and none of the other same size models call my attention more than this. Another thing to consider is the sound quality. For day to day news is ok, weekend films or other programs you can't watch too loud is fine, but if you like real surround, an external source is in order.

General view I'll say, good value for money and a pretty impressive slim screen you can fit anywhere.
