The 28mm-equivalent wide angle end of the zoom range is much wider than most other compacts, and is great for panoramic landscape shots.

The telephoto end of the 3.8x zoom is equivalent to 105mm, which is about the same as most 3x zoom cameras.

Colour reproduction and low-light exposure at spot on.

Flash range and coverage are excellent even at wide angle, and the face detection system copes well with social situations.
