A powerful and cheap fan heater, but it's quite loud and a little basic.
A powerful heater, the VonHaus Space Heater 2000W is cheap for its power. It worked well in my tests, quickly heating a room, although I did find it loud. The controls are also a little basic. If you want a cheap, simple heater, it's a good choice, but there are quieter and more advanced options available.

Introduction
Small but mighty, the VonHaus Space Heater 2000W miniature beast of a heater kicks out a surprising amount of warmth for a device that’s no larger than a regular kettle.
Design and features
- Fan-only mode
- Dumb thermostat
- Very small
The VonHaus Space Heater 2000W is not going to win any design awards, but it’s a functional heater that’s ideally suited for a quick blast of heat in smaller rooms. Running at 2000 Watts, it’s power hungry on full blast, but it doesn’t take long to feel the benefit in a cold room.

The best thing about this heater is that once you’re done with it, it’s small enough to stow away for the next time it gets chilly. Compared with some of the big and bulky heaters available, such as the Daewoo 1500W Ceramic Electric Radiator, this one is suited for people who lack storage space at home.
There are five settings to choose from. Fan only, half power, half power oscillating, full power, and full power oscillating.

I like the first setting on the dial. It doubles up as a fan that should offer some relief in the sweltering summer months. This is a basic little feature often left out of the more basic fan heaters on offer. It’s just a shame that it doesn’t oscillate in fan only mode. You’ll have to make do with a static blast of cool air.
There’s a “dumb” thermostatic dial on the top of the heater. It doesn’t display the target temperature in Celsius like some of more premium heaters, such as the Dyson Hot+Cool Jet Focus AM09, but it still works. If you pop the heater on at full blast, wait for the room to warm up to a comfortable temperature, then dial the thermostat back until it switches off. It then does its best to maintain that temperature.
For a more accurate temperature setting you could use an external temperature sensor first, and set the thermostat on the VonHaus Space Heater 2000W to click off when your room is at the right temperature.
On the safety side of things, the anti-tip function is appreciated. It’s a simple safety switch found on the underside of the unit that turns the heater off should it fall over. It also includes an integrated overheat limiter in case something goes wrong.
Performance
- Heats quickly
- Very loud
The fan pushes air out at a respectable 2m/s, when measured 15cm away. That’s goodo airflow for distributing heat quickly, and also good enough to keep you cool from close range in the Summer months.

This heater runs at just under the rated 2000W on full power but does a bit worse on the noise front. Running at 69dB on full power, it’s quite distracting, so not ideal for rooms where you want quiet, such as a bedroom.
My 10m² square test room leaped from 15°C to 18°C in just under eight minutes. With its 2kW heat output, this heater should be able to cope with rooms up to around 20m².
Should you buy it?
Buy if you want something cheap and powerful
Extremely cheap and with a basic thermostat, this heater is powerful and can warm a room quickly.
Don't buy if you want something quieter or with more features
If you want a heater for use in a bedroom, you’ll want something quieter. Also look for an alternative if you want smart features or a better thermostat.
Final Thoughts
