At its 28mm wideangle extreme the LS465 delivers pretty sharp results.
(1/250sec @ f/3.9, ISO 64, 24mm, AWB)
Zoom all the way in to 140mm though and the LS465’s 5x optical zoom struggles to keep faraway subjects sharp.
(1/100sec @ f/6.3, ISO 500, 140mm, AWB)
So long as sensitivity is kept at or below ISO 400 the LS465 is fine for everyday point-and-shoot opportunities.
(1/450sec @ f3.9, ISO 64, 28mm, AWB)
That said, it’s not impossible to get a half-decent image at ISO 800, so long as you can accept a little noise.
(1/250sec @ f/4.5, ISO 64, 50mm, AWB)
Even in flat light the Auto Picture scene-rocognition mode can deliver quite good results.
(1/180sec @ f/3.9, ISO 64, 28mm, AWB)
There is a slight tendency for the LS465 to underexpose slightly on occasion though.
(1/250sec @ f/4.5, ISO 64, 35mm, AWB)
