The Panasonic FS25 arrives in an already strong line-up of Panasonic compacts which is arguably the strongest on the market. It boasts a specification well-suited to the stylish compacts market in which it competes, featuring diminutive dimensions and several ‘party tricks’. The model does feel a bit plasticky and lightweight as a result, and this may not suit some.
The 12.7MP sensor is paired with an impressive Leica lens, boasting a 5x optical zoom covering 29-147mm, while also featuring a 3in LCD screen with a resolution of 230k dots. The Panasonic FS25 features the full range of consumer orientated imaging modes, including intelligent auto and a range of scene modes, though it is a shame manual modes are lacking
The Panasonic FS25 is a pleasure to use, and has the impressive performance associated with the Lumix range. Metering is reliable, as is white balance, while overall image quality is impressive.
