Morphy Richards Accents 402010 Hand Blender: At a Glance

The Morphy Richards
Accents is a 600W hand blender with eight speed settings, three more
than any other hand blender we’ve tested. It comes complete with a mini
chopper enclosed within a large, handled jug, and a balloon whisk.
There’s a measuring beaker too along with the traditional stainless
steel stem blender with Morphy Richards’ new Serrator blades.

Morphy Richards Accents 402010 Hand Blender: We Like

The
eight speed settings are easily accessible via a click wheel around the
top of the hand blender, which allows you to vary the power from 500 –
600W. This means you have much more control over how your ingredients
come out.

There’s a turbo button too, located above the power
button on the soft touch grip. The grip is ergonomically designed to
make the Accents easy to hold. It looks good, too.

Although
small, the Serrator blades are surprisingly nimble and managed to mince
all of our ingredients. The variable speeds allow you to control the
coarseness of the blend, which is especially useful when making recipes
like hummus where you don’t want it perfectly smooth.

There’s a
simple locking system in place for the Morphy Richards hand blender,
popping attachments off and on at the push of a button.

Morphy Richards Accents 402010 Hand Blender: We Don’t Like

The
Accents hand blender is a tad heavy, no doubt due in part to the
excellent built quality. That said, the speed at which it completes
tasks means you won’t get an aching wrist.

The included wall
bracket is pretty useless. As far as we could work out, it can only
accommodate the main handle, and not any of the other accessories, which
means you’d have to store them separately.

One final annoying flaw is that the whisk attachment can be quite difficult to clean where it plugs into the handle.

Verdict

The
Morphy Richards Accents hand blender is a quick, powerful and easily
adjustable kitchen addition. A solid build and array of attachments for a
good price definitely make this one to consider.
