MetalStorm: Online iPhone Game Review

rating-star rating-star rating-star rating-star rating-star

MetalStorm is a combat flight sim that puts you in charge of military jets loaded with heavy weaponry. You can either battle it out against an endless stream of computer-controlled opponents in the single player and co-op modes, or alternatively go online via Game Center.

The more games you play, the more points and tokens you collect. These allow you to buy upgrades or better jets and weapons. The tilt controls are responsive and we like the way you execute evasive manoeuvres by swiping across the screen to perform rolls and quick turns. The graphics are also pretty lush, with impressive-looking scenery that moves along fluidly and at a decent pace. As you progress through the game, though, you’ll soon find that you really need to make in app purchases to get anywhere fast, but that’s a common trait of late in freemium games.

Slick graphics, neat controls and some exciting gameplay makes MetalStorm a fun game to just pick up and play. However, you’ll need to make in app purchases to get the most from it.
