What is the Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4515DN?
Epson’s WorkForce Pro range of small business inkjet printers and all-in-ones has been well received and has done a lot to bolster the company’s name in the office arena. The WorkForce Pro WP-4515DN sits closer to the entry-level than the top
of the range and provides print, scan and copy functions, including
duplex print as standard. Epson is trying to pitch it as a replacement
for a colour laser and it has a number of advantages.
Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4515DN – Design and Features
Coloured in cream, with a light beige top, the printer has a substantial footprint, much closer to a laser device than a typical inkjet, but still has many of the features of a liquid ink printer.
The simple flatbed scanner lid is light and has extending hinges to help scan bound documents. In front of this, the well laid out control panel has a 63mm colour LCD screen, a number pad – whose function isn’t entirely clear as this model has no fax facilities – and large, coloured buttons to start and stop scan and copy jobs.
Below the control panel us a front panel USB socket but, despite what Epson’s Web page may say, it only works for scanning to a USB drive, not for printing from one.
The main paper tray pulls out from the front and can be loaded with up to 250 sheets, and there’s a near vertical 80-sheet hopper at the back for special papers, including glossy photo paper. Being an inkjet, the WorkForce Pro WP-4515DN handles photos with aplomb.
There’s no wireless connection on this machine, just USB and 10/100 Ethernet, but wireless is available on other offerings in the same range. Ink cartridges come in standard, high yield and very high yield versions, with the last of these offering 3,400 pages of black or colour print.
