Doodlecast is an interesting drawing app for youngsters. Kids can either just start drawing from scratch or alternatively choose from a built-in selection of suggested ideas – such as sky, water, wheels, eyes and food. These options start off with some pre-drawn shapes and can be handy for giving bored kids a bit of inspiration to get started.
After this they simply choose a colour from the bottom of the screen and start drawing with their finger. The app records in real time, not just what kids draw, but also what they’re saying while they’re working on their masterpiece, so the results can be played back later as a movie file or shared with others.
There are plenty of drawing apps on the iPhone for kids, but the recording features of Doodlecast make it a more interesting option than many of its rivals.
