Battlefield Hardline Weapons Guide

A guide to all the Battlefield Hardline weapons

Battlefield Hardline is the first in the Battlefield series to be developed by Visceral Games, meaning that the weapon line-up is a little different than in previous entries.

Overall you’re looking at 54 weapons to explore, with weapon types dictated by the multiplayer class you choose. There are also 20 gadgets and five grenades that you can use too.

You’ll recognise some of the weapons from previous games, but you’ll soon realise that the way you acquire the Battlefield Hardline weapons requires a different tack.

That’s because Hardline allows you to buy weapons and other equipment using the in-game cash you earn while playing multiplayer, rather than having to unlock them. You can choose which weapons you want to unlock first and then kit them out with up to four attachments of your choice – one each of the optic, accessory, grip and barrel varieties.

Because this a cops-vs-robbers take on the Battlefield series, there are also a few caveats on which faction can use which weapon. If you want to use a weapon tied to a specific faction across both the cops and criminals side, you’ll need to obtain a weapons license.

In order to do so, though, you’ll have to get 1250 kills with said weapon and then pay $50,000 for the license itself.

Battlefield Hardline

Battlefield Hardline Classes

Operator
The Operator’s main function is as the front fighter, but also the medic of both the Police and Criminal forces. They use assault rifles and carbines for the attack, as well as medical gadgets to heal their teammates.

It’s the best class for beginnings to the Battlefield experience, but also the least versatile due to the lack of offensive gadgets.

Mechanic
The Mechanics are the vehicle and gadget specialists for both sides, and use submachine guns (SMGs) and a wide range of gadgets to attack. Those gadgets include repair tools for vehicle upkeep, grenade launchers and sabotage bombs to destroy enemy vehicles.

Particularly effective at close range, the Mechanics do struggle for ammunition supplies.

Enforcer
The Enforcers act as the support class for the Police and the Criminals, equipped with heavy battle rifles and shotguns as well as ammo boxes, explosive charges and ballistic shields.

These are the big hitters, excellent as close or ranged combat, thanks to the combination of heavy weaponry and gadgets.

Professional
Equipped with bolt-action sniper rifles and semi-automatic Marksmen Rifles for long-range attacks, the Professionals are the stealth and intelligence experts. To complement their long-range weaponry they also have machine pistols for the close combat scenarios.

The Professionals can use laser tripmines and decoys to create enemy traps, cameras to search them out and even utilise stealth training to move silently through enemy territory.

Operator Class Weapons

1) Carbines

Carbine RO933
RO933

This is the very first carbine you pick up in Battlefield Hardline and is one of the weapons that you’ll find perfectly balanced in terms of power, range and accuracy. It’s a great all-rounder first weapon, and you can use it as a cop and a criminal.

Carbine AKS-74U
AKS-74U

If you’re playing as the Criminal Class, the AKS-74U is the baddies’ equivalent of the SG553. But it’s actually got better stats, which could make the difference in that last-minute close-quarters combat.

Carbine G36C
G36C
This is another cop-specific carbine. It’s the most expensive, but we’re not particularly keen on the G36C. There’s no stat that makes it special apart from the fact it has significantly less horizontal spread than the other carbines and assault rifles.

Carbine CAR-556
CAR-556
This is a high-capacity carbine and is pretty special. So much so that you’ll only grab it if you pre-order the game, have bought a Deluxe Edition or managed to score it in a special Battlepack. What you’ll love about the CAR-556 is its larger 40-round magazine size, meaning you don’t need to save up for the extended magazine for this weapon.
