5 awesome things to do and see at The Gadget Show Live 2016
Off to The Gadget Show Live 2016? Here are 5 awesome things you need to do and see
This weekend sees the The Gadget Show Live returning to the NEC in Birmingham for four days of non-stop gadget fun.
From Tesla to virtual reality to live on-stage performances, there’s a lot to do and see at the show, but what’s best? We’ve rounded up five things you really can’t miss.
1. Drive a Tesla Model S
If you’re into your tech, then the Elon Musk fronted electric car company probably needs no introduction.
The pioneering firm is currently at the top of its game, and its incoming Model 3 looks to be the most affordable (we’ll use that term lightly) entry into the series yet.

Tesla will have its own stand at The Gadget Show Live 2015, so it’ll be a great time to have a look round and sit in what could possibly (well, hopefully) be your next car.
There are test-drives available too, which is definitely worth doing.
2. Win an iPad Mini 2 with TrustedReviews (that’s us!)
Think you know your tech? Want the chance to bag yourself a shiny iPad Mini 2? Well, you’re in luck. We will be hosting a Tech Heads quiz four times each day from April 1-3, and invite you to prove your technology knowledge.
The winner of each quiz will walk away with a brand new Apple iPad mini 2 or a pair of JBL Everest headphones. All of the JBL Everest headphones up for grabs are wireless, which means you can listen to music cord-free through the power of Bluetooth.
You won’t be fighting your corner alone though, our editors will be on your side to give you a helping hand when the going gets tough.
They’ll be multiple rounds and anyone can enter, so what are you waiting for?
3. Experience Virtual Reality
It’s official, 2016 is the year that VR finally breaks into the mainstream.
Oculus Rift is fantastic, and now shipping, while HTC Vive is mere weeks away and Playstation VR is coming later in the year. We’re excited about it all, and you should be too.
WATCH: Oculus Rift unboxing
The Gadget Show Live 2016 is the perfect spot to take VR for a spin, with the Vive, Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard and Freefly all available to test out.
Hive, the smarthome brand, will also be on hand with an Oculus and a series of demos for you to try out.
4. Watch the pros see who’s best at PES
Gadget Show Live 2016 is the home to the finals of the Pro Evolution Soccer UK finals and on Sunday April 3 you’ll be able to watch as the pros fight it out to see who is crowned the overall champion.
But, that’s not all. If you’re visiting the show on Thursday to Saturday you’ll be able to take part in a three-day PES PS4 tournament to compete for one of the seats in Sunday’s big final.
Better get some practice in.
5. Help build a robot
With Robot Wars coming back to our telly screens later this year, it seems we still have an appetite for robotics. The team behind some of the Gadget Show’s best ever robot builds will be at the show showing off their creations and letting you take part in building your very own robot to put into battle.
