ZTE Blade 3 launch confirms UK release

The ZTE Blade 3 is now available in the UK, with the budget Android smartphone lining up as a 4-inch follow-on to the Orange San Francisco (ZTE Blade).

Packing a 4-inch screen, 5-megapixel camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich innards, the ZTE Blade, which also features a sleek, well designed body, looks set to be a powerful phone for its modest price tag.

“We paid close attention to user feedback when designing the Blade 3. It is the first smartphone in its price range with a 4-inch touch screen and Android 4.0 and is very well suited for the UK market,” said Kalam Meah, Account Director at ZTE UK. “We believe that the ZTE Blade 3 will bring a quality mobile experience to a larger UK audience.”

ZTE Blade 3 Specs
The new addition to the ZTE Blade series, the ZTE Blade 3 features a larger 4-inch screen in comparison to the 3.5-inches offered by its forerunners. Whilst playing host to a similarly sized screen to the iPhone 5, the ZTE Blade 3 can not compete on quality with the WVGA 65k capacitive touch screen display featuring an 800 x 480p resolution.

With a 1GHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB RAM under the hood, the ZTE Blade specs sheet is further enhanced by 2GB of internal memory, expandable to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The ZTE Blade 3 has a front facing camera and a 5-megapixel rear facing with auto focus and 4x digital zoom.

Running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, the ZTE Blade 3 is a sleek and well-designed device, with the mid-range budget handset lining up at 130g in weight and just under 11mm thick.
ZTE Blade 3 Price and Release Date

With a ZTE Blade 3 release date seeing the handset made available from today, February 6, the Android handset is available from Virgin Media from the bargain price of £79.99 on PAYG or on contract from £13.

“The Blade 3 is a great addition to our range and when combined with Virgin Media’s ‘Premiere’ tariff which offers unlimited data and calls from just £21 per month, it’s proof that you can go big with your smartphone without breaking the bank,” said Jamie Heywood, Director of Mobile at Virgin Media.
