ZipChip is a next-gen frisbee that flies 200 feet

The humble frisbee hasn’t had much of a makeover since its original design. You might say there’s no need, it works perfectly well as it is. But the makers of ZipChip would disagree.
It’s a pocket-sized frisbee that flies a little differently thanks to its unique design.
The makers aren’t letting on their secrets as to how it works, but it flies distances of over 200 feet. That’s almost the length of a football pitch.
It floats, so you won’t have to worry about losing it in the drink. And it’s soft and malleable, making it ultra durable. That should also mean it hurts less if it hits you. Hopefully.
Because it’s light, the makers claim it’ll take longer for your arm to get tired while throwing it. That should also make it ideal for kids. And it’s nice and bright, so should be easy to find if it lands in long grass.

To throw it, imagine you’re skimming a stone. Pretend you’re standing waist-deep in water, and want to skim it along the surface. Don’t grip it too hard. Pull back, and let it fly.
It’s shot past its funding goal and will ship in August. It’s cheap as chips too (or ZipChips), costing just $7 (£4.55). Bargain.
