YouTube unveils Android game streaming coming “soon”

Go to Twitch.tv and you’ll be greeted by hundreds of streams from PC and console gamers. But what about mobile?
Well, YouTube wants to capitalise on the growing mobile-gamer demographic by launching a streaming service for Android devices.
The company has confirmed that Android smartphones will soon be able to stream live video to its YouTube Gaming service.
YouTube made the announcement at the Tokyo Game Show, although no release date was given.

Wyatt continues: “This trend shows there’s a real need for gamers to easily share what’s on their screen with the gaming community, as it happens.”
According to YouTube, the Android streaming service will be coming “soon”, alongside a new version of the YouTube Gaming app built for Japanese users.

YouTube Gaming first launched last month in the UK and USA, hoping to rival Amazon-owned Twitch.
Introducing mobile streaming to its service could give YouTube an advantage over its competitors.
