You can play Evolve for free this weekend on Xbox One and PC

2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios have announced a free playable weekend for multiplayer title, Evolve.
The free weekend is being held as a celebration of Labor Day in the United States, but will also be playable worldwide for Xbox One and PC owners.
The Xbox One free weekend will kick off at 8:00 AM GMT on September 4 and will run until 7:59 AM on September 6.
PC players, however, can start playing at 8:00 PM GMT on September 3 all the way until 5:00 PM on September 7, earning them over an extra day of playtime.
The free weekend will not be held on PS4.

Players will have the opportunity to try out all of Evolve’s previously released downloadable content throughout the weekend. This includes all hunters, maps, weapons and game modes that are currently available.
Existing players can try out Evolve’s entire roster of characters during the weekend on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
All of the progress made during the free weekend will be carried forward if you ever decide to purchase the game, however all of that shiny DLC will not.
2K has also announced that it is adding a brand new monster to the game. Known as the Meteor Goliath, the creature “combines new looks, effects, audio and gameplay into a stunning, blue-fire wrapped package.”
Evolve’s new monster will be available for free starting September 3. 2K has also made it clear that the new monster will always be free, and that won’t change after next weekend.
The regular Goliath was already a force to be reckoned with, but the meteor variant is capable of so much more.
A detailed list of its skills can be seen below:
- Rock Throw now travels faster and lights enemies on fire
- Leap Smash has increased range and lights enemies on fire
- Fire Breath has increased range and emits blue flames
- Charge has a longer duration and lights enemies on fire
Evolve launched in February 2015 to critical and commercial success. Since its release the title has shipped more than 2.5 million copies.
