Yahoo Mail wants to be your go-to app for Gmail
It’s been a rocky few years for Yahoo, but recent app revamps could mark a change in fortunes.
Yahoo has now added support for Gmail mailboxes in the Yahoo Mail app.
The company’s latest update brings the new feature to both Android and iOS versions of the app.
Yahoo Mail already supports Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, and AOL Mail, but this is the first time IMAP support has been offered for users of Google’s e-mail service.
The app now joins a wide roster of rivals that support Gmail, including Google’s Gmail and Inbox by Gmail apps, and Outlook from Microsoft.
“All the features you need and love in Yahoo Mail – powerful search, smart contacts, rich compose features and Yahoo Account Key for password-free sign-in – are now available with Gmail,” explains Yahoo.
It continues: “Here’s your path to a more convenient, powerful and personal email experience.”
