Xbox deal alert: ShopTo is offering the Xbox One X 1TB console and four games for £449.86, the same price as the console on its own.
The games on offer are Doom, Fallout 4, Dishonoured 2, and Forza Motorsport 7, but are suffixed by the ‘while stocks last’ caveat, so you’ll need to be rather quick if you want to secure the deal.
But the deals don’t stop there. For £476.72 you can get the Xbox One X the four free games and detective thriller game LA Noire.
Don’t fancy that? Then go for the £469.71 deal which again get you the console, four free games and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Or for the same price you can replace BJ Blazkowicz’s latest outing with The Evil Within 2 and its DLC pack.
In short, this is one of the best Xbox One X bundles around, especially given the console is barely a month old.
However, it does raise the question as to why the Xbox One X is being offered in such a generous bundle.
The so-called ‘most powerful console in the world’ may not be selling as well as expected, or ShopTo may simply have stockpiles of older Xbox One games it wants to shift ahead of the Christmas season.
We described the Xbox One X as the pinnacle of console gaming, given it has a deluge of power over the vanilla Xbox One and Xbox One S, and has the ability to enhance existing games in both terms of performance and visual clout.
Yet there are still only a handful of games that are really seeing that power being put to use, though Microsoft has a list of games it expects to see improved by the Xbox One X. As such, the console’s hardware may be spot on but it could be a niche purchase for hardcore Xbox fans than a must have for the time being.
Nevertheless, ShopTo’s deal helps make shelling out £450 for a console less of a bitter pill to swallow.
