The result will be those fine folks receiving an Xbox One or an Xbox One S for Christmas will be able to spend more of the holiday playing games rather than waiting for them to download.
The mega download times for current-gen games has been a proved a major drag, with console owners often forced to spend hours waiting for titles and updates to download before playing.
This week’s update will put Xbox Live even farther ahead of the PlayStation Network when it comes to downloading games.
Meanwhile, as Polygon points out, PS4 owners continue to resort to drastic measures like putting the console into rest mode in order to speed up downloads.
