Xbox One to get “thousands” of apps thanks to Windows 10
Microsoft has suggested the Xbox One could get “thousands” of new apps through the arrival of Windows 10.
Thanks to Windows 10, the Xbox One app library is about to get a lot bigger, with some suggesting there may be “thousands” arriving before the end of the year.
As with all upcoming Windows devices, Xbox One will eventually be based on the Windows 10 architecture.
That will mean the Xbox One, thanks to universal Windows 10 apps, will be able to run the same applications as Windows 10 PCs, smartphones and tablets. And even Microsoft HoloLens potentially.
According to information gleaned by Pocket-Lint during a Build 2015 briefing, once the Xbox One switches to Windows 10 it will gain “thousands” of apps.
That’s because the console will get access to the Windows Store and all of the compatible apps that lie within it.
It also seems that if you buy a Windows 10 app on your Xbox One, you’ll be able to use it on any other Windows 10 or Windows Phone 10 devices you might have.

It may also be that we see some UI experience changes when Windows 10 hits the Xbox One, although that isn’t confiremd at this stage.
The Windows 10 release date is tipped for sometime in the summer, but there’s no confirmation from Microsoft as yet.
