Xbox One Stereo Headset and adapter to launch in March

Microsoft has announced the official Xbox One Stereo Headset and adapter will launch in early March.

Although there’s no firm release date as yet, Xbox One gamers can be comforted in the knowledge they only have a few weeks to wait until the headset compatibility for the Xbox One is greatly enhanced.

The over-ear Xbox One Stereo Headset will offer both in-game and chat audio through a 20Hz – 20kHz audio spectrum.

There’s also a unidirectional microphone to make sure your friends can hear you clearly.

The Stereo Headset will also feature a detachable Stereo Headset Adapter, putting all the audio controls within your finger reach, even when gaming.

This Stereo Headset Adapter will also be sold separately for those of you who wish to use existing headsets with the Xbox One.

It plugs directly into the proprietary port at the bottom of the Xbox One Wireless Controller and makes existing headsets compatible with the Xbox One, despite launch compatibility issues.

The design means you’ll have access to volume controls, be able to adjust game and chat audio levels separately and mute the microphone from the Adapter itself.

In order to hear in-game audio from your existing stereo headset using the Adapter though, you will need to connect your headset to the back of your Xbox One or TV via optical cable or RCA cables, which are sold separately.

To read more about compatible headsets, head to the Xbox One website.

Both the Xbox One Stereo Headset and the Adapter will be released in early March. The Stereo Headset will retail for £59.99, while the separate Adapter will be £19.99.
