Microsoft has detailed the November Xbox One update ahead of its release next month.
With the October update not long installed on your Xbox One, Microsoft has offered some information on the new features we can expect with the November update.
“We’re bringing you new and exciting ways to watch TV and interact with the Xbox Live gaming community in this month’s Xbox One system update preview”.
Just as with the incoming PS4 update 2.0, the November update will introduce custom backgrounds for the Xbox One. You’ll initially be able to a custom colour or achievement art as your background image, but more customisation options will come at a later date.
Xbox One captured game clips will be able to be shared straight to Twitter and users will also be able to share their location and bio as part of their Xbox Live profile as of next month.
There will also be a tonne of improvements coming to the Xbox One’s TV viewing experience, thanks to new Live TV and Twitter integration.
“Starting today for preview members in the US, Canada and the UK, a new tab will be available in the OneGuide that displays the top 20 most watched TV shows, with the list filtered down to the shows that are currently available to you based on your OneGuide settings.”
This Live TV Trending list is updated every minute, making sure you’re kept up to date with the TV shows that are popular on Twitter.
You’ll also be able to see the actual tweet for your selected Live TV show in real time using the MiniGuide, and the MiniGuide has been update with a combined Recents and Favourites area.
Other improvements include tweaks to the Store, allowing to you find and browse through content more easily. Games with Gold and Deals with Gold are available to view and download to your Xbox One from your Xbox Smart Glass device.
The SmartGlass Store has also been revamped a little to make it easier to find and download apps for your Xbox One.
