Xbox One features to see eight controller support included
The Xbox One features list is set to be bolstered by the option of improved local multiplayer, with Microsoft confirming the console will support up to eight controllers simultaneously.
Ensuring multiplayer isn’t just about the console’s online features, Microsoft has revealed that
“Connect up to 8 Wireless Controllers at once to your console,” Microsoft has stated on the official product page of the upcoming Xbox One controller.
While Sony has yet to confirm exactly how many PS4 controllers will be able to be used at the same time (the PS3 supports seven person local multiplayer), Microsoft has offered further details on its next-gen gaming controller.
Powered by two AA batteries, not the incorporated rechargeable power supply on the PS4’s DualShock 4 controller, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One add-on will boasts a 30ft wireless range, one of “over 40 improvements” the company has made to its Xbox controller.
According to the manufacturer, the Xbox One controller will feature “grips and contours that have been designed to fit a wider range of hand sizes comfortably.” Further improvements will let gamers “fell the action like never before with Impulse Triggers.”
Although a precise Xbox One release date has yet to be confirmed, Microsoft has revealed that the PS4 rival will cost £429 at launch, £80 more than Sony’s next-gen gamer.
What’s more, the Xbox One launch line up has already been confirmed, with a 23 strong collection of games featuring a raft of AAA titles including FIFA 14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and Forza Motorsport 5.
