Xbox 720 to be showcased by Microsoft this week?

Microsoft will showcase the Xbox 720 later this week, new reports have suggested.

Tipped to be demonstrated internally within the company ahead of an imminent public unveiling, latest reports have suggested Microsoft will showcase the Xbox 720 at a selection of conferences to coincide with the company’s entering into its new financial year.

According to a newly emerged company conference timetable, Microsoft will show off a selection of the PS4 rivals’ features and abilities to a selection of high-up executives and important, high-profile business partners, such as developers and retailers.

Seemingly set to delve into all manner of the as yet unconfirmed console’s capabilities, Microsoft has been rumoured to be planning on showcasing the Xbox 720 at conferences entitled “Xbox Games,” “Xbox Deep Dive,” and “Xbox Gold.” The existing Xbox 360 console is reportedly set for a single conference of its own.

Although Microsoft has yet to officially acknowledge that it is working on a new, next-gen console, recent rumours have suggested that an Xbox 720 launch event will be held on April 26, a little over two months after Sony’s recent PS4 unveiling.

Xbox 720 Rumours
Expected to line up as a rival to the newly unveiled PS4 and existing Nintendo Wii U, the Xbox 720 has been tipped to play host to an impressive array of innards with an eight-core processor and 8GB of RAM reportedly given the nod for the next-gen device.

Whilst it has been claimed that the Xbox 720 will bar users from playing pre-owned games, it has also been suggested that, unlike the PS4, Microsoft’s future console will be back compatible with previous Xbox titles.

Said to come boxed with a revised Kinect 2 peripheral, it is expected that the Xbox 720 will focus heavily on being an all-encompassing home entertainment device with improved, almost Siri-esque voice commands rumoured to be introduced, allowing gamers to have more natural interactions with the device.
