World of Warcraft Classic will let you relive Blizzard’s original MMO experience
Blizzard Entertainment has announced World of Warcraft Classic, a new server option that allows players to revisit the original MMORPG.
Announced during the Blizzcon 2017 opening ceremony, World of Warcraft Classic is currently in development, although a specific release date remains unknown.
Classic server options have remained a long requested feature amongst fans for several years, and now Blizzard is finally listening to this passionate feedback.
‘We’re all super geeked up and super super excited for it. We can’t wait to get it into player’s hands!’ Senior Game Designer Candace Thomas told Trusted Reviews.
‘If someone returns to the game and all they want to do is experience the classic game again and relive that nostalgia, now that’s totally an option! I think of it more of like a game mode. If I’m done raiding for the week I wanna get on my other character that’s on a classic server.’

Unfortunately, Blizzard was unable to share with us many specific details on the upcoming vanilla release. It seems it is a far more complicated endeavor than we initially expected.
‘It’s gonna take some time to get there and we want to make it great but we don’t have a whole lot of specifics on it,’ Lead Game Producer Ray Cobo explained.
World of Warcraft has changed in many ways since first launching in 2004, and Classic will hopefully recreate that original package without the server problems that plagued its release.
