Wolves vs Leicester match preview
Third place Leicester are firm favourites, with Wolves way behind in ninth place. A win could bump the Wanderers up to sixth though.
Wolves drew last time out, away at Old Trafford. It was an unambitious performance from Nuno Espirito Santo’s men in a game where Manchester United showed vulnerabilities. They will need to take more initiative in attack if they are to go one better against Leicester this evening.
In the league Wolves have won only one of their last five fixtures, clinching a 3-2 away victory at Southampton. Despite turning in some fantastic performances this season there has been an on-going struggle for consistency in the team.
Brendan Rogers’ Leicester have been far more consistent over the course of the season, scoring 54 times in the league to Wolves’ 35 and conceding only 26 times, compared to the 32 goals shipped by Wolves.
Only Sheffield United and league leaders, Liverpool, have conceded less goals than Leicester. The Foxes will likely be tough to break down this evening.
At the other end of the pitch, Jamie Vardy is currently the league’s top scorer, on 17. Wolves’ Mexican striker, Raul Jimenez, has impressed this season too. He sits eighth in the league top scorers table, on 11 goals. Will one or both of them add to their tallies tonight?
In team news, Leicester may be without defensive midfield starlet, Wilfred Ndidi, as he returns to fitness following a knee operation. Ruben Vinagre is still unavailable for Wolves.
