The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt install size could top 50GB on PS4 when it is released in May.
Several online retailers have listed the install size for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ahead of any official confirmation from CD Projekt Red.
If you’re thinking of purchasing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you better start clearing some space on your console, as it looks like the PS4 version will require at least 50GB to install.
According to several European PlayStation storefronts, including the Italian one as noticed by DualShockers, the minimum install size is 50GB.
That puts The Witcher 3 up the very top end of install sizes for PS4 games, especially when you think it’ll take up a tenth of your PS4 hard drive.

CD Projekt Red hasnt yet released an install size for the Xbox One, but the PC version requires 40GB free hard drive space.
We’ve reached out to the developer to confirm the PS4 install size for the game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt features over 100 hours of gameplay, so the install size of the game doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
However, it does make you wonder why Sony and Microsoft limited the hard drive size of their consoles to 500GB.
To put that install size into context, Assassin’s Creed Unity requires a 38.2GB install on PS4, Dragon Age: Inquisition needs 41.4GB free space and Diabo III: Reaper of Souls a mighty 58.4GB install.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on May 19.
