Windows 10 wins product of the year at the 2015 #TrustedReviewsAwards
Windows 10 has won the coveted title of Product of the Year at the 2015 TrustedReviews Awards.
Mircrosoft’s latest version of its inimitable operating system was announced as this year’s outstanding product at the awards ceremony in London.
Pleasing Windows fans with the reintroduction of the Start Menu and fixing desktop issues from previous versions, Windows 10 impressed with its attention to detail and vast improvements.
“Windows really stood out this year,” said TrustedReviews Editor Evan Kyrpreos.
“Microsoft showed that they knew what users wanted with their latest update. Providing it for free to Windows 7 and 8 users was also a huge thing for us.”
Cortana also made her debut in Windows 10, adding a powerful tool to the operating system with the ability to understand natural language for searching.
The OS upgrade also allowed developers to start producing universal apps that work across desktop, phone, tablet, and Xbox One, with the OS acting as a ‘kernel’ for every Microsoft-powered device.
“This year has been an incredible year for tech so to win the Product of the Year is a big achievement,” added Evan.
Many users felt disoriented by Windows 8 with its lack of a Start Menu and questionable desktop experience.
Evan continued: “Microsoft managed to save itself with Windows 10 and the award is a testament to that effort.”
