Having leaked on a number of occasions last year, latest reports have suggested that Microsoft will hold a white Xbox One release date this October.
With the lighter-toned console having been given out to Microsoft employees who worked on the next-gen PS4 rival, new reports have teased that the white Xbox One will be given a consumer release later this year.
Part of a number of Xbox One updates reportedly in the works, the white Xbox One console will reportedly be made available alongside the release of Sunset Overdrive, with the lightly hued offering to line up alongside the standard black model currently available.
As well as the white Xbox One release, The Verge has cited “sources familiar with the plans” in suggesting that Microsoft will make the year anniversary of the Xbox One’s November release by introducing a new 1TB capacity console. The current model features and already impressive 500GB of internal storage.
While new hardware variations are sure to grab headlines, it has also been suggested that Microsoft will roll out the first major Xbox One dashboard update this March.
Tipped to land in a matter of weeks, the update will address a number of issues with the console’s Xbox Live services, as well as correcting problems with social features in the platform’s Party-chat section.
Despite the claims, Microsoft has yet to offer any official word on a planned white Xbox One release. As such, we suggest that, for now at least, you take these October predictions with a pinch of salt.
