“Ice White” HTC Sensation With ICS Coming Next Month

HTC just loves the Sensation name. Just like Samsung is flogging the Galaxy moniker for all it’s worth, HTC has just announced the latest in the Sensation line up – a white version of the original but with added Ice Cream Sandwich.

Since the original Sensation was launched last year, we’ve had the bigger Sensation XL and the Beats-boosted Sensation XE. Now HTC is reviving the line-up with an “ice white” version (akin to what Apple did with the white iPhone 4) but the Taiwanese company has also upgraded the software to the latest version of Android, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).

The phone, which is identical to the original Sensation in every other way, will arrive on 1 March, just after Mobile World Congress and could well be HTC’s first handset featuring ICS.

Of course HTC is not going to just slap on a vanilla version of Android on its new phone, so we could be seeing Sense 4.0 for the first time too  – which would be a nice trick as the original Sensation was the first phone to sport Sense 3.0 last year.

The white Sensation will have a 4.3in curved screen, an 8 megapixel camera and a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.

No pricing or carriers have been announced for the new Sensation yet, but we should be learning more at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona at the end of the month.
