Any PC gamers should be very familiar with the Steam Sales, which take place multiple times a year. So, if you’re looking to add to your game library, it’s worth checking out what discounts are on offer, but how long do you have to wait until the next sale?
Steam Sales are a coveted event for PC gamers, giving people the chance to snatch up AAA games for a fraction of their original price. Plenty of indie games are also bundled in the sale, and it’s worth checking in on your wishlist to see if any prices have been slashed there, too.
Thankfully, we are past the days of speculation and scouring online forums for leaks, as Valve has been nice enough to confirm the dates of a couple of the upcoming events, including the Summer Sale.
The Summer Sale is usually the biggest sale of the year for the platform, and considering we’re in the heat of the summer right now, it might be worth checking if any games have seen their first price cut.
So, without further ado, here is when you should be marking your calendars and visiting the Steam website for all those discounted games.
When is the next Steam sale?
The next Steam Sale is taking place sooner than you may think, from 23rd June to 7th July. That means you have a full day before the sale kicks in, giving you ample time to start adding titles to your wishlist in preparation.
While the discounted games have not been revealed yet, we would expect some big AAA games to become a lot more affordable. Games like Resident Evil Village, God of War and Halo: The Master Chief Collection have all seen discounts in the past, making it a great time to add any unplayed games to your roster.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human even started its Summer sale early, seeing a 33% discount in preparation for the festivities.
When are the next Steam sales scheduled?
There are a few sales in the works, so if you don’t manage to tune in for the Summer Sale, or none of the games are taking your fancy, it won’t be too long until you have another chance to snatch up some deals.

- Kagura Games Publisher Sale!: 20 June – 24 June
- Steam VR Fest 2022: 18 July – 25 July
- Steam Survival Fest 2022: 1 August – 8 August
A lot of sales can be themed, and you will find that some sales are from a specific publisher or about a specific genre. That being said, we would expect the Steam VR Fest to cover any VR games, such as Resident Evil 7 VR or Superhot VR.
