Evidence that Microsoft is plotting imminent product launches is mounting, ahead of the company’s upcoming press event.
A Microsoft employee has teased that new products may be incoming shortly. Darrell Prichard, a Service Delivery Manager at Microsoft, said: “125 new @MicrosoftStore employees training in our Las Colinas campus this week. Conference room windows are covered. Hmm…wonder why? :-)”

He followed that up with another tweet: “Windows now uncovered, took a peek in and didn’t see anything “new”. At least not yet. :-)”

Microsoft’s 32-acre Las Colinas campus is based in Irving, Texas, and is also home to one of the company’s Microsoft Technology Centers. Those centres are typically used for Microsoft to peddle its hardware and software to third-party businesses, but also act as a training hub for employees.
Microsoft has a press event scheduled for October 26, where the software giant is expected to announce new Surface hardware, details on Windows 10, and a number of Xbox-related announcements. We’ve already seen leaks of Surface-branded PC peripherals, and it’s rumoured that a new all-in-one desktop PC may debut at the event. But speaking to The Verge, Microsoft said that new laptops and devices from third-party manufacturers would be revealed at the event, rather than a refresh of the Surface Book or Surface Pro 4.
