Warner Bros knew Batman: Arkham Knight on PC was broken for months, according to several sources.
You currently can’t buy Batman: Arkham Knight on PC, as Warner Bros pulled it from digital and physical shelves last week. This was after players found the PC version of the game had critical performance issues that rendered Arkham Knight practically unplayable.
But, according to Kotaku sources, Warner Bros knew the PC version had issues and released it nonetheless.
“I will say that it’s pretty rich for WB to act like they had no idea the game was in such a horrible state,” said a quality assurance tester who had worked on the game for years. “It’s been like this for months and all the the problems we see now ere the exact same, unchanged, almost a year ago.”
This was echoed by other sources, who all wish to stay anonymous, which stated that Warner Bros released the game because it believed it was good enough to ship, despite the bugs.

PC sales of the game were pulled last Wednesday, with Warner Bros pointing gamers towards the Steam refunds page with a promise that it would make things right:
“We want to apologise to those of you who are experiencing performance issues with Batman: Arkham Knight on PC. We take these issues very seriously and have therefore decided to suspend future game sales of the PC version while we work to address these issues to satisfy our quality standards,” explained Warner Bros in a statement.
“We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall.”
A minor patch for the PC version has been issued since the game was pulled, which fixing a few crashing bugs, added rain effects and sorted out a couple of other problems.
It’s unclear when the PC version will go on sale again, but for now Warner Bros is working on a “significant” update that “will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place.”
