Watching the latest ‘It’ trailer in VR is guaranteed to terrify you

We’re less than a month away from the release of the ‘It’ remake, and the existing trailers for the film have so far been nothing short of terrifying.

But, this is 2017, and if technology can help take a trailer from terrifying to emotionally scarring, why not make use of it?

That seems to be the reasoning behind this latest promotional effort for the film, ‘IT:FLOAT’, which lets you become a part of the horror film through virtual reality.

The clip above is actually a trailer for the new VR experience which you can play over on the film’s official site.

But if you don’t want to completely destroy your psyche, you can check out the trailer without actually playing the VR game.

As you float down one of the movie’s suburban settings you’ll find yourself slowly descending into the sewer, where of course, there’s every chance you’ll come across the psychotic clown of the moment.

Yes, lurking in the drain is of course Pennywise, who then proceeds to guide you through Derry’s subterranean environs, shrieking at you throughout.

If you fancy never sleeping again, you can bring up the above trailer on your smartphone and slide the phone into Google Cardboard, or Samsung’s Gear headset to immerse yourself in the nightmare world of ‘It’.

Alternatively you can simply watch on your desktop using YouTube 360 or Facebook 360.

The film itself is a remake of the 1990 TV miniseries “It,” which was in turn based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name.

It’s set to be released in theatres on September 8 in the US and UK, but if you’re over in Australia, you’ll get to begin the nightmare early on September 7.
